Fly Kiwi, Fly! is a simple arcade game where you help a flightless kiwi to soar across the world from New Zealand to the USA.
Kiwi's can't fly, but this one saw the Space Shuttle, and dreams of nothing else. Starting with no help, in Fly Kiwi, Fly! you'll guide kiwi as he jumps off a cliff, and attempts to fly as far as possible. Each flight gives you prize money, and tricks like loops give you extra. This money can be used in Fly Kiwi, Fly! to buy kiwi tune-ups like gliders, pogo sticks and rocket boosters.
The more upgrades you get, the further you fly, and eventually you'll reach Japan, then China and beyond. The upgrades in Fly Kiwi, Fly! are pretty cool, and make the really simple gameplay much more entertaining. Having a goal as extreme as the USA seems impossible after your first jump, but once you get your first rocket booster, you can see how it will be possible.
With cheerful graphics, and a quirky storyline, Fly Kiwi, Fly! is a great example of how developers can take basic iPhone controls and make a compelling gaming experience.
